Herbs For PregnancyThere are many herbs that are truly wonderful during pregnancy. Herbal remedies, even home remedies can calm frazzled nerves, and help with varicose veins, and a lot more. You will learn  about herbs in this article that are good for pregnancy. See which ones seem right for you.Drinking herbal teas on a regular basis is a good way to ensure the benefits of herbs that gently tonify and strengthen the uterus. Drinking teas is a good way to make sure you are getting enough fluids, too.

Herbal teas are best taken three times a day. Make a cup of tea with a full teaspoon of herbs in a cup of boiling water. Let it sit for ten minutes. It's fine to add honey, sugar, lemon to taste. During hot weather, it's nice to make herbal ice tea.

*Spirulina is an incredible aquatic plant that is higher protein than meat and supplies almost all  vitamins and minerals in a very compact form. It is ideal in cases where almost no food can be tolerated. It nourishes, and builds up blood volume quickly. Spirulina comes in powdered or tablet form in most health food stores.

* Red Raspberry Leaf. (Rubus Ideaus, or Rubus Dioica) This is an herb rich in numerous vitamins and minerals, especially iron. It also nourishes the uterus, soothes nausea, helps prevent miscarriage, eases labor pains and builds a healthy breastmilk supply. Raspberry leaf is best known for strengthening the uterine muscles so they work more efficiently during labor. Drink raspberry leaf tea throughout pregnancy, with its easily assimilated content of calcium and magnesium, to relieve leg cramps. It is quite  high in iron, the leaves and berries help prevent anemia. Raspberry leaf soothes an upset stomach and will help alleviate mild morning sickness. Taken after birth, it slows bleeding, helps the uterus regain tone, and increases breast milk. Drink tea or  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.

* Nettles. (Urtica Dioica) This contains high levels of calcium, iron and protein, and is an excellent herb for nourishing mothers who are feeling depleted. Nettle leaves are a storehouse of nutrition, with high iron and calcium contents, as well as an excellent source of folic acid, an essential nutrient during pregnancy. Nettle strengthens the kidneys and adrenals, while it relieves fluid retention. Because nettle also supports the vascular system, it can prevent varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Postpartum, it increases breast milk. Drink tea or  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.

*Marshmallow Root(Althea Rt.) Excellent to prevent and treat dehydration.Builds up blood volume quickly, very nourishing. 1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.
 * Chamomile. This is a great calming agent and helps with digestive disorders including    nausea. It also has some anti-inflammatory properties.
* Butcher's Broom(Ruscus Aesculus) excellent for varicose veins and safe during pregnancy.
  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.
* Black Haw (Viburnum Prunifolium) or Crampbark (Viburnum Opulus) can be used to stop  early contractions during pregnancy, and Prevention of Early Miscarriage.  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3-4 xday.

Stress or Anxiety or Insomnia herbs can help calm  emotionally.

*Lemon Balm(Mellissa) gentle mood booster. Drink tea or  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.
* Scullcap (Scutelaria Latefloria)relieves pain, as well as calm and relax the body.
  1/2-1 tsp. every few hours.
*Passiflora  helps pain, as well as calm and relax the body. 1/2-1 tsp. every few hours.
* Chamomile  helps control pain during labor by relieving tension. Drink tea or  1/2-1 tsp. tincture 3xday.
* Motherwort(Leonorus Cardiaca) is one of the best herbs to give immediate emotional balance during the ups and downs of labor, but only small amounts. 10-20 drops 3xday.
